About Niki Kerr

Most people don’t struggle with food or weight because they lack willpower. They struggle because nutrition advice has become noisy, contradictory and often disconnected from how real people actually live.

I’m Niki Kerr, the voice behind Real Nutrition Matters. I translate complex nutrition science into clear, practical guidance so people can make confident decisions about food, metabolism and weight without falling into diet trends or internet myths.

With a BSc in Nutrition from King’s College London, my early career began in public health nutrition at Westminster, where I worked on food analysis, nutrient calculation and early nutrition-labelling initiatives. My background as a qualified chef gave me an unusual advantage in that work — the ability to understand how real foods and recipes translate into nutritional data.

Alongside nutrition science, my career has focused heavily on behaviour change. I have spent many years designing and delivering programmes in areas such as addiction, public health and leadership development, where understanding how habits form and how people actually change is critical.

This combination of nutrition science, real-world food knowledge and behavioural psychology shapes everything I do.

Through Real Nutrition Matters, I focus on helping thoughtful adults cut through the confusion around modern food advice and build simple, evidence-based foundations for sustainable health and weight management.

My work centres on:
